Lost at the Fair (1965):
I and my sister Sue, and our dog Dandy, all went to the Fair. We saw the horses. We saw the swings. We saw the Fat Lady. We saw the Strong Mam. We saw the midgets. Then sister Sue got lost.
Note: Among the first things that a young boy mentions he saw at the fair are the horses.
Writer's Block (2014), page 5:
F. Jackson Hewitt: "You know, I always knew you two would amount to nothing. I knew from the first day of that college writing class, when I saw you with nothing but a piece of paper each and a box of crayons to share."
Robert: "You came into class on horseback."
F. Jackson Hewitt: "And a fine, thoroughbred horse it was."
