With this issue, the Amazing Spider-Man series returns to the numbering from the original 1963 series. This issue continues from The Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 2) #58. Because this issue picks up on the original numbering, as if all of volume 2 had continued that numbering, most research reference sources refer to this issue as Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 1) #500 if volume numbers are used, or otherwise group this issue with the original 1963 series.
