Some sources identify Maelen as a character who appears in this issue. This is incorrect. Maelen, who appeared previously in Uncanny X-Men #122, appears to have been mistakenly identified from panels which actually show Araki in silhouette. However, from the dialogue and from careful first-hand examination of both Uncanny X-Men #122 and Uncanny X-Men #135, we can state conclusively that Maelen does not appear in #135.
