Summary (from http://milestone.luthor.com/comics_detail.asp?ID=229&):

Frieda Goren is introduced as she is being bullied during an encounter with Hotstreak, a super-powered thug. Static arrives to stop Hotstreak's gangbangers. We see that Static's real name is Virgil Hawkins. Virgil arrives home and sees his mother and sister, Sharon. We see that Virgil and Frieda are actually friends. Frieda tells Virgil about meeting Static. The next day Virgil goes to his high school (Ernest Hemingway H.S.) Among Virgil's friends are Larry and Rick. Hotstreak's boys try to get Frieda once again. Static and Hotstreak face off. Hotstreak ends beating the crap out of Static and then leaves. Frieda finds out that Static is Virgil Hawkins.
