In a section about the song, game, and nursery rhyme "Little Sally Waters," William Wells Newell points out that "In the north of England the heroine's name is Sally Walker."

Then this nursery rhyme is printed, which is clearly different from "Little Sally Waters" (printed above, also on page 70 in Games and Songs of American Children):
