The Legion of Super-Heroes DC 254

This publication is also known as: Superboy (vol. 1) #230.

"Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes" #230 is how the title appears in the logo on the cover. This is the title that appeared on the cover beginning with issue #222. (Prior to that, the title appeared on the cover as "Superboy starring the Legion of Super-Heroes," beginning with issue #197.)

Superboy #1 #230 marks the last issue that this series was "officially" known as Superboy, as indicated in the internal indicia. The series would continue to be as Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes both on the front cover as well as the indicia for 27 issues, until #258. After that, the series was divided into two titles: The Legion of Super-Heroes and The New Adventures of Superboy.

Whether one regards Superboy #230 as the "last" issue of Superboy volume 1, or simply issue #230 in a series that continues until #258, or as the ninth issue of Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes depends on how important one regards the "official" indicia versus the title that appears on the cover.
