This publication is also known as: Superboy (vol. 1) #258.

Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #258 is the last issue in the first Superboy series, although the series had already long been shared between Superboy and the Legion. The Legion first appeared as part of the logo on the cover beginning in issue #197, when the cover title changed from simply Superboy to Superboy Starring the Legion of Super-Heroes. This title changed to Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes beginning with issue #222. The "official" title of the series remained Superboy until issue #231, at which time the official indicia title was changed to match the title on the cover: Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Issue #258 marked the end of this "shared title" arrangement. This series "continued" as simply The Legion of Super-Heroes, beginning the next month, with issue #259. At the same time, Superboy continued in his own title, in a new series titled The New Adventures of Superboy, with began with a new issue #1.
