This is the first issue of a new "Superboy" comic book series. This is classified as "Superboy" volume 3 because it is the third DC comic book series with the title "Superboy." But this is the fourth comic book series with Superboy as a title character. The second series featuring the character as the title character was actually titled The New Adventures of Superboy. After that, the third series (a.k.a. Superboy volume 2) was set in the continuity of the "Superboy" TV series. The logo read: "Superboy: The Comic Book," but that series (which began in 1990) is classified as Superboy volume 2.

This series (beginning with a February 1994 cover date) is thus the fourth Superboy series, but is classified here and in most reference sources we have seen as Superboy volume 3. But some sources classify The New Adventures of Superboy as Superboy volume 2, making this 1994-starting series into Superboy volume 4.
