This publication is also known as: Iron Man & Sub-Mariner #1. We have seen the title of this publication alternatively rendered as Iron Man & Sub-Mariner #1 (with an ampersand), but the word "and" is clearly spelled out in the title logo on the cover.

The Tales to Astonish series which ended with issue #101, continues into the Sub-Mariner story in this issue, and then Sub-Mariner's storyline continues in Sub-Mariner #1 (May 1968).

This special one-shot publication served as a "bridge" or transitional issue between the features for Iron Man and Sub-Mariner which were published in anthology titles Tales to Astonish and Tales of Suspense, and the two newly-launching solo title series starring these characters.
