The world-spanning terrorist organization A.I.M. is featured prominently in this issue. Part of the story in this issue takes place in the near future, in the year 2020. The story shows an AIM base known as the Aim Pacific Vista Laboratories, located in Los Angeles, California. It is here that A.I.M. scientist Dr. Evelyn Necker unwittingly and unintentionally rebuilt Charnal.
The near-future A.I.M. group shown in this issue was known as the Los Angeles Conurbation. AIM Central is apparently located there, although it had previously been located in Manhattan.
