This publication is also known as: All-Winners Comics #19. Although the team featured in this story is known as the "All-Winners Squad" (hyphenated), the actual title of the series is All Winners Comics (without a hyphen). Understandably, this issue is also known as All-Winners Comics #19, although that is not how the logo appears on the cover.

The comic story featured in this issue is one large story divided into 7 distinct chapters, each with a different artistic team. Bill Finger wrote all chapters. The first and final chapter feature the All-Winners Squad as a whole and serve as framing chapters. The intervening chapters focus on individual members of the team: Captain America, Whizzer, Human Torch (Jim Hammond), Miss America, and Sub-Mariner.

The chapters in this "book-length" comic story are: The Crime of the Ages; The Age of Bronze (featuring Captain America); The Iron Age (featuring the Whizzer); The Steel Age (featuring the Human Torch); The Stone Age (featuring Miss America); The Ice Age (featuring Sub-Mariner); and Conclusion.

Captain America and his sidekick Bucky are two of the super-heroes featured in this story. Sources differ as to whether the "Captain America" and "Bucky" who appear in this story are actually Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes (which was probably the original intent of the author) or actually their retconned replacements - William Nasland (as Cap) and Fred Davis (as Bucky).
