Summary
While dance and physical education instructor Stevie Hunter gives Xi'an Coy Manh (Karma) a haircut, Danielle Moonstar ("Psyche" now, later "Mirage") accidentally uses her mutant power on Karma. The students later gather for their first training session in the Danger Room. Karma, Rahne Sinclair ("Wolfsbane"), Sam Guthrie ("Cannonball") and Roberto da Costa ("Sunspot") each fail in the simple task of crossing the Danger Room. Danielle is assigned to battle the others as part of her challenge, but becomes so fearful that she runs away. Later, when the other students head to the mall, Danielle sneaks into the Danger Room intent on redeeming her honor and proving her courage.
