The Teen Brigade (Rick Jones' club of friends) is "behind the scenes" in this story. Much of the action in the story revolves around Rick Jones' attempts to save the Teen Brigade by obeying the Corruptor's commands. The Corruptor wanted Rick Jones to contact the Avengers with his wrist communicator. The signal was intercepted by the Rangers. The Rangers were defeated by the Hulk, who was controlled by the Corruptor, but Rick was able to turn the Hulk back into Bruce Banner and then the Rangers captured the Corruptor.
