Timecode: 9 minutes, 48 seconds: Cut to interior of Perry White's office at the Daily Planet. The camera starts out focused in on the portable stereo ("boom box"). It is playing Elvis Presley music. We hear the lyrics "feel my temperature rising," which ties into this episode's central plot. The camera pans to Perry White, who is reclining in his office chair with his feet on his desk. He moves his hand and taps his foot in time to the music. It is a scene of pure reverie as Perry White communes with the idol he worships.

The camera pans to the wall in front of him and we see a large framed picture of Elvis Presley hung there where Perry White can see it whenever he is sitting at his desk. The picture hangs above a small shelf on which there sits a vace with fresh flowers in and some kind of metal urn. There are some other objects there, and there is a plaque above the picture of Elvis. This looks very much like a shrine, like something one would see in a devoutly Catholic home with a Mary and/or Jesus shrine, or a Japanese home with a Shinto shrine laden with fresh rice, flowers, etc.

Timecode: 11 minutes, 24 seconds: We get a good glimpse of Cat Grant's dress. It is very revealing and inappropriate for the work place, as always, but not as bad as we have often seen wear.

Miranda - the principle guest villain of this episode is trying to prove to her investor, Lex Luthor, that her pheremone-based concoction works. She has surreptitiously sprayed her potion on most of the people in the Daily Planet newsroom. When Perry White sees a cleaning lady (named Rehalia) come into his office, he propositions her. She runs from his office screaming, but he chases after here, declaring his undying love for her. Clark sees this and tries to remind Perry of his wife, but Perry simply says that he has enough love to go around. Clark appeals to Perry White's "higher authority" in an effort to persuade Perry to do the right thing.

Clark Kent is confused by what he is witnessing with a number of people in the office. Lois Lane is throwing herself at him. Perry White is throwing himself at a cleaning lady. But Clark himself doesn't feel any different. Apparently he is immune to the effects of the "love potion" because he is an alien.

Timecode: 12 minutes, 45 seconds: While trying to figure out what is going on all around him, Clark hears noises coming from the copier room - the noise of people laughing. He uses his X-ray vision to peer into the room, and he is shocked to see Cat Grant doing something sexual with the copier repairman. Clark's eyes grow wide when he realizes that Cat and the man are doing. He stars to say "My God!", but he is interrupted by Lois returning to throw herself at him some more.

Timecode: 19 minutes, 42 seconds: We hear Perry White singing an Elvis Presley song. As we cut to him, we see he is dressed up as Elvis Presley and has done what he can to style his hair like Elvis. Perry looks somewhat ridiculous in his black leather jacket, black leather pants and white scarf. He is attempting to sing like Elvis and use Elvis Presley facial expressions as well.

Perry White: [Singing:]
Lord almighty, I feel my temperature risin'
Higher higher, it's burnin' through to my soul
Girl, girl, girl, you gonna set me on fire
My brain is flamin', I don't know which way to go
Your kisses lift me higher
Like a sweet song of a choir
You light my mornin' sky with burnin' love

Perry has been singing this song in an apartment building hallway, although there was no indication of exactly where he was. Now we find out as the door opens. In the back of the room the door opens onto we see Rehalia. But standing at the door we see Rehalia's husband, very angry that Perry White has been pursuing his Rehalia.

Perry is finishing up his song, really getting into his Elvis impersonation. But now he notices Rehalia's husband standing just inches from him, and he notices that the man is very angry. Rehalia's husband punches Perry White square in the face, knocking the much older man unconscious.

Timecode: 20 minutes, 46 seconds: Clark Kent is alone in his apartment flipping through magazines that have articles about perfume makes. He finally finds a photo of the person he remembers seeing at the Daily Planet earlier: Miranda. He picks up the phone to make a call, but he is interrupted by a knock at the door. He answers the door. It is Lois. She is wearing a belly dancer costume and is still intent on throwing herself at Clark because of the effect of the love potion. This scene illustrates how Clark, despite being very much in love with Lois (or at least in the process of developing strong feelings for her, is not in the least bit tempted to take advantage of her when she is in this state. Clark's moral integrity here is unshakeable, at least for tonight . . .

Clark Kent: Lois, it's very late.

Lois Lane: No, not too late, I hope. For us. For happiness.

Clark Kent: No, no, Lois, please don't.

Lois Lane: Oh, Clark, I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.

Clark Kent: Lois, please, go home.

Lois Lane: You're here. This is my home.

Clark Kent: Lois, you don't know how many times I've thought abou this . . . dreamt about this, or something like this. But it's not real. What ou're feeling is not real. I don't know exactly how, but there was something in the perfume that made everybody in the newsroom drunk on love. Lois, I cannot take advantage of you like this.

Cut to commercial. As the next scene begins we see it is morning. Lois is still wearing her belly dancer outfit as she wakes up on the couch with a headache. She is somewhat disoriented. Cut to a shot of Clark Kent. He is pacing the floor in the next room. Lois Lane stands up, holding her head to her throbbing head. Clark walks up to her.

Clark Kent: Lois, I can't take it anymore. If you really want me, I'm yours.

This seems out of character for Clark. Has he finally succumbed to the effects of the love potion? Or is this just a line played for laughs, to give Lois the chance to turn around and reject him as he previously rejected her, now that the effects of the potion have worn off on her?

Clark briefly embraces Lois Lane. She immediately pushes him away.

Lois Lane: Clark! Have you lost your mind?

Lois Lane looks down at herself, at the outfit she is wearing. She apparently has little memory of what transpired while she was under the love potion's spell.

Lois Lane: Oh, my . . . Or have I lost mine?

End of scene. As the next scene begins, it is clear that things are back to normal - at least for these two - and they are once again in full contrul of their faculties.

Timecode: 29 minutes, 22 seconds: Interior of the copier room at the Daily Planet offices. Cat Grant looks entire disheveled, as does the copier repairman. Cat is wearing the man's tie loosely around her neck. Her hair, in particular, looks messed up. There is no telling what they have been doing in there for the past many, many hours, but one can guess.

Cat looks sadly at a copy made by the copier. She is sad because it is perfect, meaning that the copier is working perfectly and the copy repairman must soon leave.

Cat Grant: Perfect.

Copy repairman: Well, my work is done. I've got other service calls to make.

Cat Grant: Not so fast.

Cat pulls a pair of needle nose pliers out of the repairman's case and uses it to pull an important spring out of the copier, thus damaging the machine so that the repairman must stay with her longer.

Timecode: 30 minutes, 1 seconds: Clark Kent and Lois Lane go to talk to Perry White in his office. A bandage is on his nose, which was broken by Rehalia's husband's punch.

Perry White: Take a look at this.

Clark Kent: Sexual harassment? Rehalia?

Perry White: But that's not the worst part. Alice [Perry White's wife] kicked me out. Called me a no-good hound dog. Now I'm down to Heartbreak Hotel.

Perry's dialog here references a number of famous Elvis Presley songs.

Timecode: 35 minutes, 14 seconds: It is the next day. Everyone at the Daily Planet is apparently now back to normal. Lois Lane sees Cat Grant walk into the room.

Lois Lane: How much of that stuff did you get sprayed with? You seemed pretty insatiable for even . . . well, you.

Cat Grant: What are you talking about? What-- What spray? I didn't get sprayed.

Kinky music plays to underscore the point of this joke. Cat Grant did not get sprayed with the love potion, although it seemed like she had. She was engaging in rapacious, wanton sexual activity simply because it is in her character to do so. She needed no special prompting to noisily seduce a stranger in the copier room. Lois Lane, Clark Kent and Perry White all give each other knowing looks upon hearing Cat point out that she had not been sprayed by the pheremone perfume. They don't say anything further, chalking this up simply to "Cat being herself."

Timecode: 39 minutes, 24 seconds: Lex Luthor has realized that Miranda, the brilliant chemist he initially funded, has decided to take revenge on Lois Lane and all of Metropolis because Lex has spurned her. Lex has come to the Daily Planet offices to try to contact Superman. He ends up meeting Clark Kent and explaining what is going on.

Lex Luthor: The important thing is to try and get Superman.

Clark Kent: Superman?

Lex Luthor: Yes. He's the only one who can stop her. The entire city's in danger.

Clark Kent: What do you mean?

Clark Kent: Yesterday Miranda made a threat. I think she's planning on releasing her Revenge all over Metropolis. Can you imagine? An entire city in love?

"Revenge" is what Miranda calls her pheremone-based love potion.

Clark Kent: At least it will wear off after 48 hours.

Lex Luthor: No, notif she uses the 100% solution. That's permanent.

Clark Kent: Permanent? Emotions running wild. Love turns to despair, depression, hatred.

Lex Luthor: Sodom and Gomorrah. A city without restraint.

Clark Kent: Without morality. I'll fax the police, give them Miranda's description, then try to find Superman somehow.

Lex Luthor: Good.

Miranda is in the process of replacing the chemicals that are intended to be used for fruit fly spraying with a 100% concentration mixture of her "Revenge" love potion. Airplanes are scheduled to spray the entire city, so nobody will suspect what is happening until it is too late. Naturally, Superman prevents this and saves the day.
