In panel on page 17 in JSA vs. Kobra #3 (Oct. 2009), Mr. Terrific recalls what he knows about The Bestowed. He narrates: "Kobra has a cadre of blood magicians called The Bestowed. Checkmate took most of them out last year. The bestowed make it nearly impossible for a spy to get inside Kobra. Undercover work isn't possible when there are people who can see deceit in your own blood."
