In the first few pages of New Avengers (vol. 1) #1, a mysterious unseen figure hires Electro to break Sauron out of the Raft. This event leads to the formation of the New Avengers. This mysterious figure is later revealed to be Siri, a Skrull infiltrator who came to Earth and posed as Elektra.
Siri was ultimately killed in a conflit between the Avengers and the Hand, who she was leading in her guise as Elektra. As "Elektra," Siri was killed by Echo, who was a member of the New Avengers in her costumed identity as "Ronin." After being killed, Siri reverted to her true Skrull form, which tipped the New Avengers off to the fact that a full-scale Skrull infiltration invasion was under way.
