The "religious" category is a sort of catch-all category used for characters which have exhibited religious belief or behavior in some way, but whose actual religion has not yet been determined. This may be because writers have not yet been specific enough about the character's religious background or beliefs, or it may simply be because we have not read the pertinent stories in which a character's religious affiliation has been identified. Some characters may - like some people - simply be generically "religious" or "spiritual" and not identify themselves with a specific religious appellation, despite exhibiting beliefs and behaviors which can be categorized as "religious." In many cases, characters are listed in this general "religious" category only temporarily. Ms. Marvel, for example, was listed here because she was shown praying to God, but she did so without wording distinct to any particular religion. Later enough details about her upbringing and home life were revealed that she could be moved from the general "religious" section into a specific religious category.
